Hi! My name is Erika and I am a biologist.
Science has always been my greatest passion, but so has early childhood education. Before earning my PhD in Immunology, I studied psycho-pedagogy, dreaming of becoming a preschool teacher. But life led me into scientific research — until the moment when everything changed: I became a mum.
When My Child Became My Teacher
It was my son, with his endless curiosity who made me see science through new eyes.
Saturday afternoon, during our usual pizza-making ritual, my young son looked up and asked:
"Mom, what is yeast?"
"Yeast is a cell!" I replied
"What’s a cell?" he asked again.
That moment sparked an idea: make science accessible to children with books that explain concepts through a systematic and age-appropriate approach.
One book, many ways to learn
and so... AmaMundi was born, an independent publishing house devoted to publishing children’s books that convey scientific knowledge through a progressive and versatile pedagogical approach.
La Mangouste Curieuse is the heart of our project. A book series that introduces scientific concepts while supporting every stage of learning, from ages 3 to 9.
Each book is available in English, French and Italian — letting curiosity travel beyond words!
